The President of Pentecostal Sanctuary Bible Ministries (PSBM),Ijebu Ode , Ogun State, Prophet Sunday Dare Iyunade, has urged Christians across the world to intensify preparations for the second coming of Jesus Christ, warning that many believers are no longer spiritually ready.
Iyunade made the call on Wednesday during a press conference held at the ministry’s headquarters in Odo-Egbo, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, as part of activities marking the church’s 30th anniversary and its 24th annual convention.
Speaking on the theme of this year’s convention, “Maranatha (The Lord Cometh)” taken from the book of 1 Corinthians 16:13, the cleric said the message was meant to awaken believers to the urgency of spiritual readiness and renewed commitment to evangelism.
According to him, the preparation of many present-day believers has become weak because the message about the second coming of Christ is no longer strongly preached in churches.
“The preparation of present-day believers is very weak as the message of the second coming of Christ is not echoed heavily within the church.
Christians must remind themselves that Jesus Christ is coming soon,” he said.
The cleric also stressed the need for Christians to intensify evangelism, particularly in rural communities that have not yet been reached with the gospel.
He noted that several villages, including some in South-West Nigeria, still lack access to Christian teachings, urging believers to act swiftly in spreading the gospel.
Iyunade described global conflicts and rising insecurity as signs of the end time, saying they align with biblical prophecies recorded in the book of Matthew.
Reflecting on the ministry’s journey since its establishment in March 1996, the cleric said the church has grown beyond Nigeria with branches now operating in the United Kingdom and other locations.
He attributed the ministry’s survival and growth over the past three decades to divine grace, noting that many people once doubted the church would endure.
“We owe God immeasurable thanksgiving. When many felt the ministry would not survive, God remained our strength and sustainer,” he said.
Other programmes lined up for the celebration include a rally on March 22, revival meetings from March 23 to March 26, a ministers and workers conference, a praise night on March 27, and an ordination and thanksgiving service scheduled for March 29.
During the event, the cleric also delivered several prophetic messages covering the church, Christian leaders, Nigeria and the global community.
He expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, predicting that the nation’s economy would experience significant improvement and wealth creation.
Iyunade also called on Nigerians to abandon ethnic divisions and embrace patriotism in order to support national development.
He added that Nigeria would remain united despite predictions of a possible breakup, describing such claims as unfounded.
The cleric further urged residents of Ogun State and the people of Ijebuland to pray for God’s guidance in leadership decisions and selection of a God faring Awujale for the people.
As part of activities marking the anniversary celebration, the ministry dedicated an office accommodation for the wife of the president of the church, Pastor Mrs Iyunade as well as dedication of a bus purchased by the church for evangelism.
In the similar development, the church led by its President Pastor Sunday Iyunade visited and donated hospital materials to Ogun State General Hospital in Ijebu-Ode and also provide writing materials and welfare items to inmates at the Nigerian correctional centre, Ijebu Ode.
