The Olisa in council of Ijebu Ode
In a statement signed by the Olisa of Ijebu Ode, Olisa Abdul-Rasheed Adesanya and made available to journalists by the Secretary of the council,

formally notify the Ijebu Traditional Council that the appointment of Prince Omololu Adewale Odukoya as the Olurasonwa of Rasonwa Community was carried out in strict compliance with laid-down traditional and customary obligations governing chieftaincy matters in Ijebu land.
The statement as obtained by planet news highlighted four major points necessary to be noted for the appointment of Prince Omololu Adewale Odukoya as the Oluransonwa of the RASONWA community.
- Customary Authority: By established Ijebu tradition, the Olisa of Ijebu-Ode, who is next in ranking to His Royal Majesty, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu land, is the traditional authority with jurisdiction over the customary affairs of Rasonwa Community. Acting in council and in accordance with native law and custom, the Olisa of Ijebu-Ode duly approved and installed Prince Omololu Adewale Odukoya as the Customary Chief of Rasonwa Community, bearing the hereditary title of Olurasonwa.
- Status of Title: The Olurasonwa title is a Customary Chieftaincy of Rasonwa Community in Ijebu North East Local Government, Atan. The holder does not claim nor exercise the status of a Part II recognized Oba under the Chiefs Law of Ogun State. The paraphernalia used are those historically attached to the Olurasonwa stool as preserved by the Olisa-in-Council and the Rasonwa Royal Dynasty.
- Public Notice: This clarification has become necessary to prevent misinformation and to maintain public peace. The Olisa-in-Council hereby informs the general public and the Ijebu Traditional Council that Prince Omololu Adewale Odukoya is the lawfully installed Customary Chief – Olurasonwa of Rasonwa Community – in line with tradition.
- Request for Records Update: We respectfully request that the records of the Ijebu Traditional Council be updated to reflect the customary status of the Olurasonwa of Rasonwa, and that further publications on this matter take cognizance of the traditional authority of the Olisa of Ijebu-Ode over Rasonwa Community.
