The Newly appointed Chief Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, Doctor Serah Titilola Ibiyemi on Monday June 29, 2026 played host to a professional group known as Gunuvi Professionals in her office.
Speaking on behalf of the Gunuvi Professionals who are mainly indigenes of Ipokia Local Government coordinator of the group Mr Egbeton Agboyinu thanked the Medical Director for receiving the delegation despite her busy schedule and
pointed out that the delegation came to identify with the new CMD being their daughter and sister from Ipokia Local Government area of Ogun State.
He expressed the group’s readiness to garner support and pray for the success of the Medical Director’s administration.
Mr Agboyinu said further that, the appointment of Dr. Ibiyemi signals Federal Government’s commitment to leveraging experienced leadership and promoting gender inclusivity within the nation’s healthcare system.
He commended the new Medical Director for her professional excellence and longstanding contributions to the public health sector.
Also speaking another member of the group, Mr. Anthony Gandonu described the Medical Director’s appointment as a source of pride for Maun community, Ipokia Local Government and womenfolk.
He commended the new CMD for maintaining cordial relationship with the staff of the health institution as well as maintaining connection with her roots and urged the younger generation to emulate exemplary characters. He therefore prayed for a successful and impactful tenure of the new CMD.
An elder statesman who was also part of the trip, Prof. John Yetongo Aihonsu, prayed for God’s continuous guidance and direction upon Dr. Ibiyemi.
He encouraged her to uphold the noble legacy of service, integrity, and humanity established by her late father, Chief D. K. Aihonsu.
Professor Aihonsu praised the Medical Director’s efforts in advancing the course of Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, and added that her achievements during the little time she assumed office has brought tremendous progress to the hospital and pride to Ipokia Local Government and Yewaland.
He therefore appreciated the support of the management and staff of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta and however appealed
for their continued cooperation and support for a successful administration of the new CMD.
As a mark of appreciation and support, Mr. Egbeton, on behalf of the Gunuvi Professionals, presented a congratulatory frame to Dr. Titilayo Sarah Ibiyemi in recognition of her remarkable achievements and invaluable contributions to the development of the health sector in Ipokia Local Government Area.
In her response, Dr. Titilayo Sarah Ibiyemi expressed profound appreciation to the Gunuvi Professionals for the thoughtful visit and kind gesture. She thanked everyone present, as well as those who could not attend due to unavoidable circumstances, assured the delegation that she would not disappoint the people of Ipokia Local Government and pledged to build upon the enduring legacy of her late father through dedicated service and excellence in healthcare leadership.
Responding, the Medical Director, Dr. Titilola Sarah Ibiyemi, thanked the delegation for the visit and their support. She commended the people of Yewa for their integrity, gave thanks to God for her emergence as Medical Director and appealed to the people of Yewa to continually support her administration with prayers for wisdom, strength and divine guidance.
