The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Abeokuta Branch, has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Ogun State Property Investment Corporation (OPIC) in advancing professional Engineering practice, quality infrastructure delivery, and sustainable urban development across Ogun State.
This position was made known during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the NSE Abeokuta Branch to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of OPIC, Arc. Abiodun Fari-Arole, at the Corporation’s headquarters in Abeokuta. The visit was led by the Branch Chairman, Engr. Olumayowa Ayodeji Idowu, FNSE, alongside members of the Branch Executive Committee.
Speaking during the engagement, Engr. Idowu praised OPIC for its strategic role in the development of residential, commercial, and industrial real estate hubs, as well as its contributions to the creation of new towns and cities within Ogun State and beyond. He observed that OPIC’s projects have continued to stimulate economic activities, attract investments, and support structured urban planning in the state.
According to him, OPIC’s growing portfolio of completed and ongoing developments reflects compliance with international standards in infrastructure provision, planning, and sustainability.
The NSE Abeokuta Chairman emphasized the statutory responsibilities of the Nigerian Society of Engineers in ensuring Engineering best practices, public safety, and professionalism. He stated that a structured partnership with OPIC would strengthen technical oversight, improve project execution, enhance capacity development, and deliver greater value in real estate and infrastructure projects.
In his response, Arc. Abiodun Fari-Arole appreciated the NSE delegation for the visit and reaffirmed OPIC’s commitment to delivering world-class developments. He underscored the importance of engaging professional bodies such as the NSE in achieving quality, sustainable, and impactful outcomes.
At the end of the meeting, both organisations agreed to begin structured technical and professional collaboration as a foundation for a mutually beneficial relationship.
