OGUN @ 50: IPOKIA LG CHAIRMAN CELEBRATES GOLDEN JUBILEE, COMMITS TO GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT AND FUTURE PROSPERITY

The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh (Cornerstone), has called for unity, renewed commitment, and sustained development as Ogun State marks its 50th anniversary.

Delivering his address during the Golden Jubilee celebration held at the Ipokia Local Government Secretariat, the Chairman described the milestone as a celebration of resilience, growth, and remarkable achievements recorded by the State since its creation in 1976.

Hon. Avoseh noted that Ogun State has distinguished itself as a pacesetter in industry, education, commerce, agriculture, and cultural heritage, adding that the sons and daughters of the State continue to make meaningful contributions both within Nigeria and internationally.

He stated that the Golden Jubilee provides an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices of the founding fathers, appreciate the dedication of past and present leaders, and recognize the collective efforts of the hardworking people whose commitment has driven development across the State.

The Chairman also commended the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his visionary leadership and for ensuring that the 50th anniversary celebration is decentralized across all Local Governments, thereby promoting inclusiveness and grassroots participation.

“As a Local Government, we remain committed to supporting the developmental strides of the State Government and to implementing initiatives that will improve the lives of our people,” he said, expressing confidence that the next fifty years will surpass the first in unity, innovation, peace, and prosperity.

Hon. Avoseh appreciated traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders, youth representatives, and residents for their presence and support, urging continued cooperation and dedication toward the progress of Ogun State.

The Chairman concluded by wishing Ogun State a happy 50th anniversary and prayed for continued growth and prosperity.

The event was well attended by Government officials, Political Leaders, Royal Fathers, Baales, Party faithful and key Stakeholders from across the State.
