The News Department of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta, has organised a capacity-building training session for its staff, aimed at enhancing professional competence and newsroom efficiency.
The training, facilitated by retired Assistant Director of News, Yemi Akintunde, focused on modern journalism practices, ethical reporting, and effective news presentation. Participants were also exposed to strategies for improving storytelling, accuracy, and audience engagement in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
Speaking during the session, Mr. Akintunde emphasised the need for journalists to uphold credibility, objectivity, and professionalism at all times, noting that these values remain the foundation of broadcast journalism.
Staff members who attended the training described it as insightful and impactful, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to learn from a seasoned professional. They reaffirmed their commitment to applying the knowledge gained to improve news content and service delivery.
