NSE Abeokuta Seeks Strategic Partnership with Nigerian Army’s 35 Artillery Brigade

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Abeokuta Branch, has taken steps to deepen its collaboration with key national institutions following a courtesy visit to the Commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army, Alamala, Abeokuta, Brigadier General Engr. G.U. Nwamba, DSS, PSC(+), mni, CM. The visit underscores the Branch’s commitment to fostering stronger ties between the Engineering profession and the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Leading the delegation, the Chairman of NSE Abeokuta Branch, Engr. Olumayowa Ayodeji Idowu, FNSE, congratulated Brigadier General Nwamba on his recent appointment as the 13th Commander of the Brigade. He noted that Engineering plays a pivotal role in modern defence systems, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, communications, surveillance, and logistics, all of which are essential for effective national security operations.

In his response, Brigadier General Engr. G.U. Nwamba, an Electrical and Electronic Engineer, expressed appreciation for the visit and acknowledged the contributions of the Nigerian Society of Engineers to national growth and professional excellence. He identified key areas for potential collaboration between the Brigade and NSE, including infrastructure development, technical advisory services, and knowledge sharing, while expressing the Brigade’s readiness to leverage the expertise within the Society.

The engagement created a platform for meaningful discussions on partnership opportunities aimed at advancing infrastructure, technology, and capacity development. Both the Nigerian Army and NSE Abeokuta Branch affirmed their commitment to building a mutually beneficial relationship that will contribute to national security, innovation, and sustainable development in Nigeria.
